Picture post.  Boom.

Beast mode.

AM

Snatch: took it to 130kg.  Dropped down and took a couple more at 110 ad 120.

Clean and jerk: 140kg. Shut up.

Squat: took it to 220.  It felt dece, so I went for a 237.  Didn’t get it.  I think I need to start concentrating on doing x3s or give my squats a separate workout because I know I’m good for more.  Opinions?

PM

Snatch and Clean and Jerk: went real light.  Mondays are pretty busy work days for me.

Bench press: 60kg, brother!

I’ve been doing 3 sets of 5 on the squat lately to switch things up, and because I’m light for my class and think it could help add weight. While sets of 5 are the work of the devil himself, they seem to be helping. I started around max clean weight, and have been going up 5-10 kg every sesh, squatting 3x a week. I figure I’ll run this until I can’t, then cut reps down progressively to another max test.

Fosho. That’s a legit squat plan. I was talking to Pendlay a while back and he’s also a big fan of sets of 5. 3×5 is a good way to go, I’ve done that in the past. I’ve also done working up to my best set of 5 and 5x5s. My one concern with doing sets of 5 at this point in time would be that it would be too much volume since I’m trying to put together some bigger #’s in my lifts in preparation for Collegiates. I think that afterwards, I’ll definitely be running something similar to yours.

Yeah if you’re prepping for Collegiates I’d def focus mainly on the lifts, and then do some heavy squat doubles or triples after. Or whatever Glenn says to do, haha.
