It seems like every CF gym nowadays has their own fitness lifestyle brand. And some are pretty sweet, like my friends from Caffeine and Kilos. But sometimes it’s nice to wear clothing that doesn’t have to do with working out. Check out THIS brand from Seattle. You already know I’m into high contrast and black and white. The designs are pretty rad too. Some of the stuff is pretty strange. But so am I.

I hit a dece’ 141/170 this morning and it’s the best I’ve looked in a while. I’m feeling pretty good about it. Both my confidence and my numbers should rise the next few weeks going into nationals.

Here’s a brand new track from my favorite contemporary doom act, Pallbearer. The new album is set to release this August. Be sure to check ’em out.
Not a metalhead? My friend just saw The Tuneyards play in the city. He played me a track from the opening act, Sylvan Esso. I was immediately drawn in.

I’ve been without internet for a while so blogging has been challenging. But I’m going to attempt to post something at least 4 times a week leading up to Nationals because it’s a ritual which I believe keeps me on focused. So here we go. I’m going to start with a completely ridiculous thing I’ve been trying to get to catch on over the last couple weeks.
I’ve got a BFF. Lately, during conversation I’ll respond to whatever he’s saying by extending my hand inches away from his face and doing an overly emphatic “shaka” sign for about 3 seconds, which for him is about 3 seconds too long. I’ll usually pair this with an overbearing “BRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!”
Basically it’s the most annoying thing ever. I call it “overbearing bro meme.” If you have a better name for it, I’m open to suggestions. Be careful. It’s addicting. After a while, you’ll basically be doing a parody of yourself.

Check it out. All of my lifters who competed at the meet we hosted at Midtown last weekend. Big thanks to my boss, Tara, the club prez, Cameron and EVERYONE who volunteered their time to make the event possible. I’m proud of my team and how far we’ve come. Lookin’ good, guys. Keep up this pace and I’m gonna have a squad with me by Nationals next year.

Here’s a current playlist that I’ve been bumping lately. Some new, some old. You might see some repeats of a few tracks off of my “Best Of” playlists. If you’re bored at work, hopefully you’ll find a track or two off here that you’ll enjoy.
4) Lunacy-Swans. LOVE this track.
7) Myth-Beach House. “Go to” track for sure.
9) Blue Spotted Tail-Fleet Foxes. “Bro, do you even reverb?”
10) The Whip-Serengeti. I’m throwing the video on here directly because I liked it so much. Fear of what comes next is a very relatable feeling for me. Enjoy.
11) Gallows Humor-U.S. Christmas. I actually like the version off of Bad Heart Bull the best.
13) Vomit-Girls. (warning: skip track if in good mood.)
As always, if you’re listening to something that you think I would dig, feel free to post in the comments section.
